This is an app dedicated to the Oscar-nominated movie Kon-Tiki. Four chapters tell you more about the background to the Kon-Tiki expedition and the cinema film named after it. Set sail and enter the world of the adventurer Thor Heyerdahl and his crew. As a young researcher, in 1947 Heyerdahl crossed the vast Pacific Ocean on a home-made raft of balsa tree trunks. He dubbed it the Kon-Tiki. The outcome was uncertain, but this high-risk expedition was the only real opportunity for the Norwegian to prove his revolutionary theory. He maintained that Polynesia had first been settled from South America 1500 years earlier, and that rafts of this type had been used. This not only challenged the academic consensus of his day, but put Heyerdahl’s own life on the line. You can also discover Eterna – the watch of the film and the companion of adventurers for more than 50 years.

With many interactive applications, numerous original photographs and video sequences, the Kon-Tiki app is a tablet application which puts the potential of this technology to extremely good use.
